These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website metductsvc.com and our chimney cleaning and maintenance services provided by Metropolitan Duct & Flue Cleaning Service ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").

Metropolitan Duct & Flue Cleaning Service provides professional chimney cleaning, inspection, and maintenance services for residential and commercial properties throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC.
Our services include but are not limited to:
- Chimney cleaning and sweeping
- Chimney inspections and assessments
- Creosote removal
- Chimney cap installation and repair
- Emergency chimney services
- Preventive maintenance programs
Service Agreements and Scheduling
Appointment Scheduling
Services are provided by appointment only. We will confirm appointments via phone or email. We reserve the right to reschedule appointments due to weather conditions, equipment issues, or other circumstances beyond our control.
Service Access
Customers must provide reasonable access to their property and chimney system. This includes ensuring clear pathways to the work area and removing valuable or fragile items from areas where work will be performed.
Property Preparation
Customers are responsible for preparing their property for service, including:
- Covering furniture and belongings near work areas
- Ensuring safe access to the chimney
- Clearing snow, ice, or debris from chimney areas
- Providing adequate lighting if work extends into evening hours
Pricing and Payment Terms
Service Pricing
All service prices will be provided in writing before work begins. Prices may vary based on:
- Type and complexity of service required
- Condition of the chimney system
- Accessibility and height of the chimney
- Travel distance to service location
- Additional services or repairs needed
Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of services unless other arrangements have been made in advance. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards. There may be additional charges for:
- After-hours or emergency services
- Excessive creosote buildup requiring additional time
- Repair work not included in the original service agreement
- Travel beyond our standard service area
Cancelled or Rescheduled Appointments
We require at least 24 hours notice for cancellation or rescheduling of appointments. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
Customer Responsibilities
As our customer, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your chimney system
- Notify us of any safety concerns or hazards
- Ensure proper access to your property and chimney
- Follow our safety recommendations and guidelines
- Maintain reasonable behavior with our technicians
- Comply with all applicable building codes and regulations
- Obtain necessary permits if required for repairs or modifications
Limitations of Liability
Service Limitations
While we strive to provide professional and thorough services, we cannot promise:
- Complete removal of all creosote or debris from complex chimney systems
- Prevention of future creosote buildup or chimney issues
- Detection of all potential problems during inspections
- Resolution of pre-existing structural or mechanical issues
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service that gave rise to the claim. We are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Damage to property not directly caused by our negligence
- Pre-existing conditions or hidden defects
- Chimney fires or carbon monoxide incidents
- Acts of God, natural disasters, or other events beyond our control
Safety and Compliance
Our technicians are trained to follow all applicable safety protocols and industry standards. However, customers are responsible for:
- Maintaining their chimney systems in safe working condition
- Following manufacturer recommendations for heating appliances
- Installing and maintaining carbon monoxide detectors
- Complying with local fire codes and building regulations
- Regular maintenance of their chimney systems
Warranties and Commitments
We provide a satisfaction commitment on our chimney cleaning services. If you are not satisfied with the quality of our work, please contact us within 30 days of service completion.
We do not provide warranties on repairs or parts installations, which are covered by manufacturer warranties where applicable.
Intellectual Property
The content, organization, graphics, design, compilation, magnetic translation, digital conversion and other matters related to the Site are protected under applicable copyrights, trademarks and other proprietary rights.
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
